Kit BK38: D:uuml;wag Grossraumwagen Triebwagen (Motor Tramcar)
Brief History
- Between 1952 and 1956, the D:uuml;wag factory in D:uuml;sseldorf built
Grossraumwagen bogie trams for many tram-systems in Germany. These were
built to the same overall design and looked very similar, but with slightly
different window configurations.
- The Grossraumwagen motor trams often worked as coupled sets with four
wheel trailer trams, such as the BEC-KITS 35
Verbandstyp II Beiwagen (trailer car), or more commonly with a
Grossraumwagen bogie trailer tramcar, which is available as BEC-KITS 39 Grossraumwagen Beiwagen (Trailer Tramcar).
- Some were rebuilt in pairs later on to articulated trams for further
service.
