Corgi have produced a beautiful diecast "Cissie" centre-entrance Feltham tram model in OO gauge 1:76 scale in their Original Omnibus Company series of models. The first production model OM40503 "Cissie" Tram in Sunderland Corporation Transport Department livery was released in August 2002 and the second (with an improved top deck) is OM40506 in Metropolitan livery, as preserved at Crich.
BEC-KITS have produced a specially adapted Motorising set for the Corgi "Cissie" tram which provides a simple method of motorising the tram for running on standard model railway track, such as that made by PECO.
The set contains 2 motorised ready-to-run equal wheel bogie units in 16.5mm OO gauge, wired for 2-rail pickup, with special bolsters and illustrated instructions on how to fit them into your Corgi "Cissie".
This photograph shows the motorising set fitted into the plastic chassis pan of the Corgi Sunderland "Cissie" tram and also fitted with the plastic truck sideframes taken from the Corgi "Cissie" tram.
These MECIS Cissie bogie sets are now available from KW Trams.
Also available separately is a working TT pantograph which is very suitable for replacing the etched brass pantograph which is part of the Corgi Sunderland "Cissie" tram.
