Kit BK42: Hamburg V5B Beiwagen (Bogie trailer tramcar)
Brief History
- In 1941 the car builders Waggonbau Uerdingen built 14 trailer cars for
Hamburg, these being designated Type V5B (double-ended).
- 4 were destroyed by aerial bombardment in 1943.
- In 1952 the remainder were rebuilt into single-ended trailers.
- In 1957 they were fitted with the large route number box.
- The cars were scrapped between 1968 and 1969.
- Car number 1981 has been preserved and can be seen at the VVM
Schönberger Strand Museum near Kiel.
Kit special features
- This kit has two unmotorised bogies.
- The transfer sheet supplied contains the Hamburg HHA logo, lettering,
numbers and destinations. The advertisements are not included.
- The kit is suitable for being towed by kit 41 Hamburg
V5T motor car.
